G3n/g5n zd2s? #10

Closed Roseweave closed 2 years ago

Roseweave commented 2 years ago

I was trying to load those from the GCE folder onto my G1x Four, but they didn't work, particularly the Holdverb and Hold Delay. As far as I know, the G3n never got Holdverb, but the Hold Delay should work and should (I think) be compatible with the G1x Four but I don't think anyone's actually uploaded the proper g3n or g5n version.

If you could throw up the g5n zd2s it'd be much appreciated! the GCE ones don't seem to work

Hi @Roseweave I will try to do this in next few days. Bit tied up at the moment. AFAIK these are identical. I compare file size, fxid, gid and of course bytes. Please check out Mungewell's zoom-zt2: he discovered there was a guard.zt2 that disables certain FX. IE you cannot load particles on the newer units but can on G3n/G5n

Since I have all the units I will try to repeat your experiment. It might just be those FX are incompatible.

More as I get it. BTW if there are other UI enhancements just ping me ideas. I need to add Rhythm for the G5n/G3n/GCE in right emulation mode (and ability to load the different emulators if in GCE-3 mode). I haven't worked out looper yet.

hi @Roseweave Added G3n data Will ad the G5n probably early next year - need to backup my G5n before I factory reset it. Made a video of the G3n decoded with the b1xfour.py here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X1SPHj7qDw Actually this is first time I tried this on the Bullseye Pi4 so I had to reinstall mido, construct, json5, python-rtmidi ... thanks as this reminded me I had done a poor job of documenting the dependencies.

pi@raspberrypi:~/Software/ZoomPedalFun/G3n/DerivedData/2.20 $ ls -l HOLDVERB.ZD2
-rw-r--r-- 1 pi pi 37670 Dec 29 12:27 HOLDVERB.ZD2
pi@raspberrypi:~/Software/ZoomPedalFun/G3n/DerivedData/2.20 $ ls -l ../../../GCE-3/DerivedData/1.20/G5n_3.00/HOLDVERB.ZD2
-rw-r--r-- 1 pi pi 37670 Aug 9 21:31 ../../../GCE-3/DerivedData/1.20/G5n_3.00/HOLDVERB.ZD2

they are identical length. So likely the G1XFour cannot handle the FX? I will try this next week. Please comment on any repro steps. Is it sufficient to take a factory reset G1XFour and attempt to use Mungewell's zoomzt2 to add in the HOLDVERB.ZD2? Then, if it claims to work, to try and use it with my b1xfour.py program?

Happy New Year

None of these will load on a (G)(B)1(X)Four. Sorry about that. Making a YT to demo it.

Best regards and I will close this as there's nothing more we can do here.
