Our experience with these kinds of hackweeks is that a whole morning of lectures is quite tiring. We do 2.5 hours of lectures in the morning and 1.5 in the afternoon, with the balance for hacking. This has often worked out better.
I don't know whether it is necessary to specify morning/afternoon here -- maybe just say "50% of the time for lectures and 50% of the time for putting concepts in practice".
