The chapter could host discussions about training, problem-solving consultations, study groups, research software days, and gather for larger events like regional workshops or wide-scale conferences.
Part of this task would be to establish “coordinator” or community manager roles to lead the organizational chapters.
(Note: if the organization has an open-source program office, there would likely be some coordination between it and this activity.)
