[bug] Multiple nodes with a duplicate UUID #63

Closed ddervisis closed 11 months ago

ddervisis commented 11 months ago

Is there an existing issue for this?

Current Behavior

My 3 control planes are displayed in Omni as a single machine because they all have the same UUID. After looking up the UUID it seems, that this is a common UUID that is shared by a lot of machines: 03000200-0400-0500-0006-000700080009

All 3 machines are same exact model: Beelink EQ12 image

It seems the machines listed in Omni are based on the assumption that the UUID is unique, which it is not for a lot of USFF computers (Beelink, Veeam).

Expected Behavior

All 3 control planes should be displayed/listed as separate machines in Omni.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Use nodes that share the same UUID
  2. Use an Omni installation image on said nodes
  3. Omni lists only one machine

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

No response

Anything else?

I fixed the issue by changing the UUID of all 3 machines as described in this Beelink forum post: https://forum.bee-link.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=86568
