This still feels like a bug in Talos, but I'm not sure why.

Certainly 10 GiB is enough, but not sure what is there on that disk. It might be easier to start with an empty disk.
Probably the bug is that that Talos doesn't try to properly resize small GPT partition that exists on the disk, but you're better with any empty disk.
But the disk should be empty... I created it with the VM...
You can see it yourself in the logs, it might be that it's nocloud metadata (???). I never used Proxmox, so no idea.

FWIW, I was able to successfully run talos on proxmox at https://github.com/rgl/terraform-proxmox-talos.
Yeah, this was an issue on my side. When creating Proxmox VMs with the Terraform provider I mistakenly set the disk file to use the ISO, which made it so that the disk wasn't empty and wasn't writeable. In any case, thanks for the help :slightly_smiling_face:

My Talos installation fails on the step that creates the partition table due to lack of space. What am I doing wrong? Is the VM disk too small?
