Network issues with Talos 1.7.7 /1.8.1 on Proxmox 8.2.7

Bug Report

We have upgraded the LXPM Drivers and Proxmox on our Servers, and then we have Network issues on the Talos VMs. Other VMs like Ubuntu 22.04, had no Problems. After changing the Networkcard from VirtIO to Intel 1000E, the Problems are gone.

Description

So with VirtIO Networkcard, we have Network timeouts or no connection.

We don't know if the Problem is Proxmox, or the LXPM Linux Drivers Updates. But other Linux Distributions are working, without a Problem.

Environment

• Talos version: 1.7.7 or 1.8.1 + QEMU guest agent
• Kubernetes version: 1.30.5
• Platform: Proxmox 8.2.7 (Linux 6.8.12-2-pve)
• Server: Lenovo ThinkSystem SR630 LXPM 2.12

We test with virtio/QEMU all the time, and we haven't seen any issues so far, but it might be something which got fixed in Linux upstream, so let's see with #9536
