Make current playing track visually distinctive from other tracks. #15

Describe the feature you want implemented.

The current playing track looks like any other track. There is no distinction.
It is very difficult to visually see which song is currently playing. I have to
look at the display to see the various track details. Then I have to use the
Search bar, to search for the track.

Describe why you think that this feature is needed.

It is a necessary visual cue, which assists the user in easy identification of
where they are in their library or elsewhere, and to see which songs are next,
or were played previously.

Are there any other projects that inspired you? Do you have any screenshots
or mockups to show a concept of this feature?

Windows Media Player, and all other media players. WMP has three states, one
for Now Playing, one for Selected Track and one for Mouse Hover. This is the
ideal implementation.

This will be achieved with a small image in front of the row. The same
indication will be used to show which playlist is currently active.

It will be implemented before the stable release.

Please consider changing the visual style of the complete song entry, or
playlist. It is much easier to see the current track in WMP, than players that
use the small image at the start of the row, such as MusicBee.

Perhaps a combination of the two could be used. Both style the row and put some
sort of indicator to the left.

A combination of both is how WMP does it. It uses a small triangle and a
different font colour. Experiment with making it bold too, so that it looks
good and is noticeable, without being a distraction.
