Error message always shows at startup

I could not replicate this, but I just added a check for that. I think it might mess up the generator selection could you please check and see if still works after an update.

Error no longer shows in build-cmake v0.8.2. Regarding functionality, I can't get atom-build to work because of this (seems Fedora related).
