Firefox: Opening Sessions With Multiple Windows Issues #1318

Open TheGodEmperor opened 4 months ago

TheGodEmperor commented 4 months ago

There are several issues recently where if you have multiple windows saved to a session it will only open the first one and not all of them. It used to be all of them.

If you try and open a session in new window it does nothing if you already have window open, Used to work.

If you do replace in current window in an empty window it will remove your existing window open. This also used to work where it wouldn't close the existing window and replace with the session's window, but now it does.

Having a similar issue when I click to open a session, it duplicates all of the tabs (pinned and unpinned).

I have the exact same problem as described by "TheGodEmperor". Tab Session Manager used to work fine... for over a year?... and I was totally happy with it... and thought I could trust it (I'm using Firefox). Now, multi-window sessions only open ONE WINDOW, or none at all. Problem began months ago when TSM opened multi-window session, then opened it again, (resulting in double the number of open windows). Then that resolved (possibly with a TSM update - not sure). Now with TSM 7.0.1, multi-window sessions only open ONE Window, whether TSM is set to "Open last session" or "Open registered startup session" (after Registering a Startup Session). Clicking individual sessions in Session Menu DOES NOT WORK, either, whether trying to open in Current Window OR New window. If I have 1 Window open, and try to open a session in NEW WINDOW, TSM "closes" my current window!... and then, opens only one window of the multi-window session I click to open. I'm using TSM 7.0.1, and suspect there is a regression in that version. I already removed it, closed Firefox, then reinstalled new 7.0.1, and ALL the misbehavior remains. I don't want to waste time trying to install an older version of TSM, (older than TSM 6.12.2 that "TheGodEmperor" reported had this same issue). If you don't assign someone to investigate and fix these new problems, I'll have to go to a competitive tab session extension, and I will suggest to Mozilla that they stop recommending your extension (due to lack of support on fixing SEVERE issue). This problem has existed a LOOONG time, and you have not assigned anyone to investigate it yet! ("TheGodEmperor" reported it to you almost 3 months ago, AND for previous TSM v6.12.2... problem is still present in 7.0.1).

P.S. to my above comments... I sometimes have to disable and reenable TSM, just to get it to display its Menu list of saved sessions (TSM reports "No sessions to Display"). But I'm not getting a dB Error Message - just no displayed sessions, until I disable then reenable TSM... no browser close is needed... just disable/reenable TSM, and the empty Menu gets repopulated. The question is, why do all the saved sessions disappear on an intermittant basis? I used to LOVE TSM - no more... it has become a chronic problem. (I have NOT been able to get TSM to open a multi-window session for several weeks now - see my earlier comment).
