I had this issue for almost 2 months. Just solved it by disconnecting my google account, re-connecting my gDrive account, make sure this checkbox is selected.

Short description
May 25th is the last day my sessions were correctly "saved", whether a manual or automatic save. After that, no sessions were being saved. I tried changing the "backup -> Save location" folder but I don't even know what directory it now checks. My folder was on windows desktop and it has all the sessions until may 25th. I tried creating different folder on my desktop and changing it in the TSM settings but to no avail. The sessions were not being saved to either of the folders. And upon browser close and re-open everything I saved always disappeared and only the last save from may 25th was there. Tried resetting to default settings, uninstalling and installing and all I can do now, is actually save the sessions. The plugin seems to remember the saved sessions even after closing the browser. But I don't see any new files created in either of the above mentioned folders. I again tried putting the same name of the folder - none, new folder - none.
