Running the emulator on Windows XP I forgot to mention.

You may want to try them again, with a version of playground from 449 on. This
crash
appears to be gone, with the first one, at least.

If your referring to that post on the forums, that was inrelation to the GU
games. To
clarify there is 2 separate serieses of dot hack games, one is the dot hack
games
which includes infection, mutation, outbreak and quarantine and then you have
the GU
series which includes Rebirth, Reminise and Redemption. I`ll have a quick test
in
either case and report back in a minute or so to let you know if that fixes the
crash
or not.

I checked with .hack:infection around 454. That was before some major changes,
but I
was able to get into the world at that point. That's the only .hack game I own,
though, so I don't know about the others...

Holy crap :)
Its fixed. *dances*. Tested in playground r463. Game now doesn`t crash.
Thankyou for
suggesting I fix the game :). Very happy. I`ll spend some time to further test
the
game to see how it looks now that that crash has been overcome.

No problem. I noticed it when I was getting ready to commit 454, blinked a few
times,
and meant to comment on it here, but quickly got involved with other things.
And I
was pretty sure it wasn't 454 that did it.
The comment on GS reminded me of it... :)
I'll leave this issue open till you've had an opportunity to test out the
series a
bit, though... ^_-

I`ve updated the thread I created on the forums to make note of this. Also note
that
I`ve not see any sps at all during the game so far during my tests (been
playing it
for 10 mins now). Game runs fine other than that it only runs at 35-40 fps. But
I`m
just happy it runs :).

Meant to say on suggesting I play the game, not fix it.

In either case I`ll have a good play through and report back if I encounter any
other
issues related to the game.

Only issue I`ve come across was of all the characters faces being black in one
bit of
the game (part where Orca gets attacked by a fragment of the virus). Other than
that
running flawlessly besides speed drops.

Just tested this on xp myself, runs fine like everyone else has mentioned using
latest pp. Went to try it on Vista, and crashes soon after you select language
on the
language selection screen. Am using same plugins as the author of this issue

Rechecked on vista, works ok if you run gdsx on dx9, but crash occurs after
language
screen if you select dx10. So seems like a plugin issue and not a pcsx problem,
sorry
if I have done wrong by adding this onto this current issue on the site.

That's all right. It does sound like a plugin issue, though, and the issues
here are
primarily for pcsx2-playground issues.
I thought I'd leave this open for a few days, though, just to make sure this has
resolved the original issue with all the hack games...

On a different issue with the same game, if you load a save state you lose the
ability to move your character with the left analogue stick.
I`ll test the other games alittle later to see if the original crash bug is
present
in them. I`m assuming its fixed but you never know.

Ok testing time. Heres the results of testing on the other 3 games:
Mutation: No crash works fine.
Outbreak: No crash works fine.
Qurantine: No crash works fine.
Thats a success on all games. Happy times.

Recent revisions r476 and above have a new cdvd system. Please test .hack once
more
and make sure I haven't caused any regressions. Thanks. :)

Good news. Although apparently the change did break .hack GU series, according
to
Issue 87. In any case, this issue looks like it's done and closed for now. :)

New crashes report in recent revisons from r547 and up:
Somewhere between 547 and this one some random crashes have crept in with the
dot
hack games. Every so often the game will now crash in random locations. This
never
happened at all prior to 547.
Currently playing the game in r553 and the crashes have been occuring both in
the
town sections and during dungeons. Had 2 crashes occur on me in the last 30
mins.
