Hack Gu stop working around Rev 476. VTLB #87

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
The game hackGU use to work correctly on rev 471.
But now I compiled the REV 482 and it crash the emulator just before the
opening movie of the game.
So I suspect rev 476 may have cause-it but I will have to check to be sure.

Agreed. The Cdvd still has some work left to be done on it, so I can only hope
Hack
GU works better after ny next planned Cdvd revision.

Note that the earlier series of Dot Hack games still work fine.

Just a note, The VM is working fine. ITs only in VTLB thats its broken.
Keep in note that revs before this cdvd change was working in VTLB.

since recent rev, VTLB is worse than VM for this game. VTBL lead to a immediate
crash
of the emulator. Before around rev 476, it was crashed a little further just
before
the main intro movie.

in newer rev it says
vtlb miss: addr 0x40, mode 0
vtlb miss: addr 0x1BF9FC, mode 1
vtlb miss: addr 0x801BF9C, mode 0
hope this helps somehow

This problem has been fixed, more or less. Hack/GU no longer crashes, but it's
still
pretty glitchy -- no doubt because the VIF1 transfer that's writing data to
places it
shouldn't, isn't writing data where it should.

VIF fixed proper will be a major undertaking, but for now the game at least
boots and
plays. :D
