Svn 508 and textures missing in FFXII #94

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
1) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on the
Official PCSX2 build or an earlier version of PCSX2 playground?

Yes. Works well with on and everything below svn504.

2) What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Play Final Fantasy XII
2. Walk around in Archades or other city
3. Notice black, buggy textures placing the correct ones.

3) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

With other revision releases and official releases textures are not
missing. With svn508, for example, the cab in Archades is missing
textures, and later on (or earlier on in the game), one will notice place
where textures are missing where they weren't before. I noticed these
after paying for 15minutes and started testing for 20minutes or so to find
the cause. So I believe there are lots of errors in the gameworld in
svn508.

4) What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

The problem occurs with SVN508. OS: Vista 32-bit ultimate, E8400, R4870,
4gig. I used the latest gsdx plugins 1.13 pp SSE4 DX10 mode with Peops
1.9.0 spu, and only by changing the actual pcsx2 executable (svn file) I
can notice something different. So I thought it might be some changes
between 504 and 508 that are causing the problem.

5) Please provide any additional information below.

I thought it would be wise to report this, because it would be important
to know which direction the playground editions are going when it comes to
games that used to work well. Thank you very much for your excellent work
and please keep up the good work.

thanks for reporting this.
i'll look at the code in detail tomorrow, its possible i made typo or something
somewhere.

btw just incase, can you goto the advanced options dialog and try hitting the
'default' button, and see if you get the same problem. also try experimenting
with
different VU clamp modes if the problem persists.

please post here if any of that fixes the problem.

Hi cottonvibes,

I play FFXII with the default settings in the advanced menu. I messed around
with
the settings, but the result was the same. Maybe it's a small typo in the code.
It
would be most natural, since you guys are trying so hard to advance this great
emulator :)
