Hi, I liked your thinking and the idea behind this project. Wouldn't it be nice to have some additional development on this? I would be more than happy to help in my free time.

Migrate to Arduino UNO.
Build an android app. using Kivy (https://github.com/kunguz/yogurt), pyjnius, USB OTG (https://gist.github.com/kunguz/98d2ad7f3ed5a2bb6abe). Thus, all required is a small circuitry attached to the bike. App can even be a service rather than a full one. Circuitry can be powered through USB
And/Or battery operated operation using a bluetooth serial port such as HC-06.

@kunguz Hi Kaan, Damien and I are finishing this for a competition on November 1st - so after that I'd love your help. Our plan is to have an iOS & Android app talking to the Arduino via Bluetooth, but we're avoiding OTG for now because neither of our devices support it.
