Thanks for noticing this and pointing it out. The only way to hide this is to delete the project so it's completely gone from readthedocs. That does mean it could be re-registered in the future by someone, I suspect, but :shrug:

You could always re-register and just host a single page with a link pointing to the new docs if required?
Funny have the time or energy to bother with that
5 years ago this commit (https://github.com/sigmavirus24/github3.py/commit/6f80592d525fdf71b43c82bdf271162f81e5465f) changed the docs site from https://github3py.readthedocs.io/ to https://github3.readthedocs.io/
However today the old (?) docs site is still available and is the first hit on google when searching for "github3.py" (in fact the new site does not even appear on the first page).
Given the old site has not been updated in a long time, can it be shut down?
