Cannot switch to view when edge of the column on the new view does not line up with edge of the old view

This issue is pretty similar to the one below, except, under different 
circumstances

1. Make an xterm in stack mode, tag it 1
2. Resize the column so that the edge is separate from the side of the screen
2, Switch to view 2, and make another xterm in stack mode, keep it the default 
size 
4. put the mouse at the edge of view 2 so the arrow cursor shows, and try to 
switch to view 1

It does not allow you to switch
This seems to happen whenever the two borders on view 1 and view 2 do not line 
up
