Search box is not in focus when "gif" dialog is opened #10701

Bug description

Visiting the "gif search" dialog does not focus the search box by default.

Steps to reproduce

Actual result: The search box is not focused, you need to tap to focus before you can search for a gif. Expected result: Given that every time I've gone to that dialog I've wanted to search for a gif, I would expect that the search box would already be in focus. Reducing the number of steps even more, e.g. adding a "GIF" option to the stickers button that uses the message I've already entered to search for a GIF would make the experience even more user-friendly.

Device info

Device: Xiaomi Redmi 9T Android version: 10 Signal version: 5.2.2

Is this still relevant? If so, what is blocking it? Is there anything you can do to help move it forward?

Yes.

Hi there, this isn't a bug, but rather intended. There's lot of other categories of gifs people can page through, and while we make the search box easily accessible, the intent is not to go into searching immediately. If you'd like to discuss it more, please use the forum. Thanks!
