I have the exact same issue. I also wrote an email to signal and have been trying to cancel my subscription without success.
We are pushing Signal Android v7.12.3 to resolve this issue.
Hi! Just wanted to let you know that v7.12.3 is submitted and we're just waiting on the Google Review process, and once that is through the fix will also be submitted with v7.13.1 into beta (if we cut and submit 7.13.1 right now it'll reset our review time)
Bug description
Some months ago I enabled a monthly EUR 5 / month subscription via Signal running on the phone. Now I wanted to cancel the subscription and try a different payment method, because the actual booking is EUR 6.50 / month (due to some paypal fees, whatever). However, cancelling the subscription just doesn't seem to work at all for me.
Steps to reproduce
Actual result: I did the steps above already days ago for the first time, about 1 week before the monthly period ended. The confirmation popup states, that the subscription (and the badge) is terminated after the current period. However, this didn't happen at July 23rd. The subscription still remained active and now shows "Renews Aug 23, 2024"
Expected result: I expected the subscription cancellation to work and maybe also some visual feedback whether or not the cancellation actually worked.
