By the looks of the source the audio message is a simple audio element with controls attribute and source child without any other modifications. In Chrome the volume slider / muter works as expected so my next guess would be an issue with Electron/Chromium. I noticed some recent commits involving package upgrades for Electron - could be the source of the bug.
Hmm, I have reinstalled Chrome just to see if this fixes anything as recently it was removed (while I kept Opera and Vivaldi), but same.
I don't recall - where was the volume indicator previously? Attached to each inline audio player?

That's correct. Same place as in the screenshot, but a slider for every audio. Can't find any pic on Google :( I think a default audio volume setting (slider, like Skype settings for mic, etc) would make this 100x better and solve the issue.

Bug Description
After last update the volume slider for audio messages is no longer appearing.
Steps to Reproduce
Actual Result:
No volume slider makes listening ear pain inducing if speakers are set at 100% . Plays audio always at max volume. That's like opening pornhub player at 3 AM with max volume and waking up your gf
Expected Result:
It should have a volume slider for audio records like in previous builds. Better yet, volume slider that is default for all incoming audio messages.
