[edited] For the record: installed Signal today and this also happens with an Android 10 device (Nokia 3.2) Only a random list of 7 "empty" contacts (no conversations listed) is shown of which none of them I've been in contact with for months.
Signal Version: Windows v1.34.4 Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Linked Device Version: Android v4.67.3 OS Phone: Android 10 (v2.310)
Updated previous post and included version information.
Meanwhile: After having some new chats with other contacts than the random list above on my Phone, these new conversations and attachments now showed up on the PC version. Previous SMS however are not synched to PC but are present on my phone.
I also sent a new message to one of the "random" contacts from the initial import and it was synched to my phone. I presume it was then sent as an SMS - this contact does not have Signal installed.

As long as new conversations are synched back and forth, I guess I can live with this one on the long run. A bit annoying and irritating in the beginning though, and one must start a chat on the phone to get these contacts eventually synched to PC, but not a showstopper.
So far: š Keep up the good work.
Signal Desktop (Windows 11) is both missing contacts and does not recognize phone numbers that are signal users.
Signal Desktop worked fine until somewhere around 1 year ago. Since then, no update has worked for me. Specifically, I just updated to most recent version (5.47.0). Contact import incomplete. I entered in phone number for a signal user (active - signal with them through Android client). Message returned is - User not Found "##########" is not a Signal user.
@JMN10017 This sound terrible! could you send us a debug log from both your phone and Desktop, please?
I haven't had any issues since I posted this in 2020. I'll leave it open for @JMN10017 .
Sorry, it looks like this is a known issue and it should get fixed with the next release.
Do you have an estimate of when the next version will be released?

Bug Description
I've installed the Windows 10 client for the Signal app and linked it with my phone. After importing groups and contacts, I see that several of my contacts are missing. I use signal on iOS 13. Also, when opening groups to send a message, I can write in the text box but not send.
Steps to Reproduce
Actual Result:
Contacts are not fully imported from iPhone signal app. Can't send messages to group from Windows desktop app.
Expected Result:
All contacts that can be reached through the Signal iOS app can be messaged through Windows desktop app. Can send messages to any group from Windows desktop app.
