Monochrome Tray Icon #4668

Open ceiphr opened 3 years ago

ceiphr commented 3 years ago

The current tray icon has a blue outline, just like the application icon. Other messaging services such as Discord and Slack use monochrome tray icons by default with a drop shadow for improved contrast on light-mode tray backgrounds. Windows and Linux DEs such as GNOME seem to also use monochrome icons by default for their trays.

Can we see Signal Desktop use a monochrome icon for consistency with these other services?

That would be great, thank you!

On a related issue, does the application currently support Linux icon theming?
