If I click on the "new conversation" icon, I can see my contacts and groups (but I have some "Unknown group" named group with 0 members...) , but they should be displayed on the main window
I tried to install back the stable v5.0.0 , and it worked, so this is a bug in beta-5
For beta feedback try to use the forum if possible: https://community.signalusers.org/t/beta-feedback-for-the-upcoming-desktop-5-1-0-release/31817/27
@hiqua Ok ! I didn't know this forum thank you
So this seems to be a "feature", too bad... because we loose pinned groups and else... I will stay on v5.0.0 for now :-/

No, you will not loose your setup. As soon as the group syncs with storage service (due to some traffic or simply because you open it manually) everything except message history will be back in place. But, please let's follow this topic on the forum.
As this is not a bug but a feature (even if I think this is a bug 😇), I will close this issue and continue the discussion on the forum https://community.signalusers.org/t/beta-feedback-for-the-upcoming-desktop-5-1-0-release/31817
