Audio notification rings through Do Not Disturb on macOS 13.4 #6449

Bug Description

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Enable Do Not Disturb. Make sure it is properly configured to let no apps or people through, like in the screenshot below.
  2. Be called.
  3. The notification banner will not display, but the audio notification rings.

Actual Result:

The notification banner will not display, but the audio notification rings.

Expected Result:

The notification banner will not display, but the audio notification will not sound.

Can confirm that this bug is still present (macOS 14.4.1, Senoma)

Also confirmed on macOS 14.6.1 (also Sonoma). The only practical way to silence Signal is to quit.

Edit: Signal Desktop 7.24.1 (latest as of 2024-09-16); Apple Silicon.
