I've searched a little and on my system app.asar is not a folder
Couple questions:
My guess is that your package manager updated Signal Desktop out from under you. Is the crash reproducible after a restart? app.asar
is kinda like a tar file, not a folder.
Couple questions:
- What method did you use to install Signal (Did you use and package managers/etc)?
- Are you using any kind of anti-virus software? If so, what is it?
Have this issue too. No anti-virus and installed via pacman from the Manjaro mirrors. Debug log of a normal start is here. Not aware of a way to get it from a crash. CLI crash log can be found here
same issue here on vanilla arch
Same issue on vanilla arch. Issue has been present since at least early August. Installed via pacman.
Signal version: 6.36.0
OS: 6.5.9-arch2-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu, 26 Oct 2023 00:52:20 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Closing this as a duplicate of https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/6495; it appears the Arch Linux maintained package is not building the sticker-creator.
Trying to get this through to get a fix through to the arch repository. Can be followed here on the Manjaro forms and on the arch bugtracker.
A great suggestion has already been posted based on the information from the Arch Package repository for if you need the feature to be available right now; https://forum.manjaro.org/t/signal-desktop-build-steps-missing-for-sticker-creator-feature/150579/5?u=familiard
[ X] I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates
[ X] I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.
