[X] I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
[X] I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

The problem is that it is not possible to set it up as a new device without linking signal on my phone with the application on my computer.

Steps to reproduce

File > "Set Up as New Device".

Expected result

To be able to sign-in using a phone number.

Actual result

No response and no errors. Everything else works.

Hi @Simon-Bakken-Jantasuk, you do need a phone to use Signal, and all Desktop clients must be linked one. I can see why that menu option is confusing, though! I'll check with the team to see if we can clarify that.
