I can't reproduce it, but I had friend also expereince this problem. It's got to be something do with corrupted conversation stored in the phone. The only work around to open Signal when you expereince this problem is to turn on airplane mode and not connecting to Internet connection including Wifi/5G/4G. And then you can get back into Signal without crashing, then you can start deleting all newest message you got in Signal since the last time you can actually open Signal.

When you delete enough new messages, you should be able to open Signal when you connect to Internet.

This is a bug, and dev team please look into why the conversation DB got corrupted and keep Signal from opening when the phone is connected to Internet
