Ephemeral messages not deleted from servers ?

Preamble

I guess that this issue is related to Signal server, but no issue can be created on concerned repository, so I am creating it here.

Bug description

Ephemeral messages does not seem to be deleted on servers and I did not find any documentation about it. Maybe this is intended behavior, but if so, I find documentation misleading.

Might be related to #4216

Steps to reproduce

• Set up Signal on several devices (I used Signal iOS and Signal Desktop)
• Chat using ephemeral messages using one device, wait for messages to disappear (I used my iOS device in a group chat where I was alone, set up 30s expiration, then sent about 300 messages)
• Open other device and see bunch of messages loading during app startup (I saw a message saying "Loading 300 messages")
• (I also experienced this with days / weeks old deleted messages during day to day usage)

Actual result: Loading messages after deletion

Expected result: Not loading any message because they should have been deleted

Device info

Versions: Latest, but experienced this issue for a long time (1 / 2 years)
