Bug description
I've allowed Signal to access my contacts, which includes the photos I have assigned to different numbers. On the Signal home view, the image that shows up for one of my contacts is (what I assume to be) the photo he has set for himself. When I go to edit this, however, the original that I set for him shows up.
Steps to reproduce
Invite a user to Signal with an existing contact and associated contact picture
Have them change their profile picture
Actual result:
Their contact photo in edit mode is the same as your system's contact info, but when they appear in chats its the one they set for themselves.
Expected result:
Their profile photo across the app is the image you have set for them.
I've become aware that by going to my settings and selecting "chats," I can manage the setting that controls this. I apologize for the prematurely raised issue; I'll be closing it now!
