I can see metrics visible in prometheus-
but not in splunk-
Metrics are not events. You are sending metrics to an event index. You should use a metrics index instead. Further, you should use the metrics workspace to navigate metrics in Splunk Enterprise. Please read more here: https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/SMW/1.1.9/Use/Navigate
Closing as this is not a bug with the collector, please reopen if more work is needed.
@atoulme I changed index,but only getting default metrics in splunk Getting this otelcollector | 2023-01-03T15:28:49.993Z warn internal/metricsbuilder.go:121 Failed to scrape Prometheus endpoint {"kind": "receiver", "name": "prometheus_simple", "scrape_timestamp": 1672759679802, "target_labels": "map[name:up exported_instance:api.telemetry.confluent.cloud:443 exported_job:Confluent Cloud instance:prometheus:9090 job:prometheus_simple/prometheus:9090]"} otelcollector | 2023-01-03T15:29:50.028Z warn internal/metricsbuilder.go:121 Failed to scrape Prometheus endpoint {"kind": "receiver", "name": "prometheus_simple", "scrape_timestamp": 1672759739786, "target_labels": "map[name:up exported_instance:api.telemetry.confluent.cloud:443 exported_job:Confluent Cloud instance:prometheus:9090 job:prometheus_simple/prometheus:9090]"}
It seems like you have connectivity issues to your endpoint. Please debug that the endpoint is available and accessible from your collector.
Please provide more information: steps to reproduce, versions of Splunk and the collector, actual vs expected results.
