big change here is that there's no more scratch/ dir
i don't think we had anything worth saving there necessarily.
that said, the Rbuildignore still has a rule to ignore scratch/ ... meaning if we wanted to use that concept while we develop (say, on other branches) we could. but by the time it gets to release there's no sense piling up our scratch
if need be we can create another repo specifically for misc scripts. but IMO that might be overkill (and something we ultimately probably will just delete anyways).
