@stephenturner , would you mind taking a look before I merge, since this is my first addition to a true R package?

I took the template from fam.R and built a new function, including the commented documentation. I also added several files to the data directory, including the vcf.gz files that the comparisons are performed from, so that we can use the same data. If you would rather that not be included, let me know.
