Filing this as placeholder as it is a soft blocker for #74 (as in we can handle #74 but would like to wait for this to get fixed before)

I would like to improve the UX for signers who are not maintainers of the GitHub project
Issue is being worked on in theupdateframework/tuf-on-ci#208, and the in-person in kubecon March 20-22.

Closing, this should now be fixed in tuf-on-ci-sign 0.8
