able to download the media file that the provided link points to using ytdl (or whatever it is currently called)
using dmenu, can select the quality in which the media file should be downloaded in: audio only / low quality video / high quality video / custom
using dmenu, can select the download location for the file. Sensible default should be provided based on the quality setting
keeps track of running ytdl processes, and can be used to query their progress. Makes sure that no ytdl processes get stuck or fail silently
is able to notify the user if the ytdl executable is outdated

The following requirements aren't plsdo responsibilities, but I must mention them for the sake of completeness:

a keybind should be set up that invokes the ytdl script with the clipboarded link, if it is a valid link
desktop notifications should be displayed, when appropriate
