When a monster ripostes (cmd1.c:4499-4501), the lore is not updated to reflect that the monster has that ability. That is unlike the other monster abilities, except elf-bane which is obvious.
Sil 1.3 also never adds riposte to the lore (see cmd1.c:3897-3899 in its code).
