Would you accept a PR which adds storing the traces in files, one file per trace? In https://jsonlines.org/ format.

If so, what command line argument would you prefer to enable this mode of operation?

Yes, the PR is welcomed. I have no strong preference regarding the argument name. Please choose a name you find suitable, and we can discuss it further when I review the PR.
