Sorry if this is a stupid question but not having used Git for a couple of years I'm a bit rusty but I'm sure this worked fine before.... When i try git clone -b extended https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new.git I get asked for a username and password. i enter my credential and then I get the message that the repository doesn't exist.
I am facing the same problem

4 years ago I found a note in one forum that suggested the driver is part of the latest Ubuntu as standard. I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and the WiFi works. I have an HP laptop with the RTL8723de.

4 years ago Hello, world! You can clone the repo by typing the following line to the terminal. git clone http://github.com/silenoth/rtlwifi_new_extended.git

I upgraded to a newer Ubuntu LTS and my hardware was supported so I didn’t need rtlwifi anymore.
