Assigning myself because I plan to see if I can make progress on this over the next couple of weeks. I plan to start by working on the issue mentioned in https://github.com/sillsdev/LfMerge/pull/313#issuecomment-1318968381 since I'm probably the one who knows that bit of the code best.
