sloppy focus and OpenOffice #134

CVS fluxbox (May 21 21:00 central time):

Using sloppy focus, run OO.
Open any child window. Click in the child somewhere.

The parent and child begin to rapidly exchange focus back and forth. Works fine in "Click to Focus" mode. This sounds suspiciously like bug 588425 ("Full screen apps and sloppy focus").

This seems to be fixed in the latest CVS version (20030721, which will become 0.9.5) of fluxbox (see http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/download.php\#cvs for downloading instructions). The ChangeLog includes the following item:

*03/07/21: * Really fix focus stuff. Should be properly standards compliant now (I hope). This also fixes a crash introduced yesterday.

After playing around with OpenOffice.org 1.0.3.1 (including "File|Printer Settings..." then "Properties", "Format|Page", and "Tools|Options"--areas where I previously experienced the same problem described when using any Sloppy variant), I did not have any focus problems with Semi-Sloppy Focus enabled. Now I can use OOo without switching to "Click to Focus." :)

Transient issues like this were fixed a little while back (though not before this bug report :-) )... indeed, I now see your comment where you spotted the changelog entry :-)

You possibly could have closed this bug yourself, but anyway, I'll do it for you now.
