You should use the apps file for grouping instead (fluxbox 0.9.x). It can match on the name (first value, default), or the class (second value), or the title (WM_NAME), or the role (_NET_WM_ROLE).
In ~/.fluxbox/apps: [group] [app] (class=something) [app] (title=something) [app] (role=something) [app] (something) (Then any other apps file things you want applied to the group, if any) [end]
The "something" is also actually a regular expression.

This presents a problem with applications like Firefox, Thunderbird, or Mozilla and any of its child windows, since they all have the same WM_CLASS property of "Gecko" listed first, then the more specific one next. If fluxbox searched through all values of the WM_CLASS property, that would be awesome!
Awesome windowmanager!!! Keep it up!!!!!
