I second this, I get this also. Switching desktops or switching focus to another window and back again seems to fix it, as previously mentioned.

I (the initial bug-report sender) have now tried to reproduce the bug in other applications, with succes :-( I have seen the bug in ex. Quanta Plus and OpenOffice. But as mentioned in the first bugreport, the problem comes and goes. And the trick to make it go away also works in Quanta Plus and OpenOffice.

I have this problem also. I've submitted a bug report to Mozilla. I also have the problem when using other window managers. However, the bug appears much more frequently in fluxbox.
Thanks, -RR

I've had this bug off and on, on different machines, but I no longer get it any longer. I'm not sure if it's new mozilla... 1.0 rc3, or new fluxbox 0.1.9, try upgrading to the latest and greatest of everything and see what happens maybe.

Anytime there is a popup window (like hitting CTRL-F) to find or any kind of stats message (like going to a domain that doesn't exist) will reproduce this bug. Its like the browser loses focus and doesn't regain it until you minimize/restore it

i use the newest fluxbox (.deb) and i also get this problem VERY often, mostly in Opera, so this has nothing to do with mozilla. switching desktops fixes the problem here, too. well, this makes using fluxbox for a longer time kinda annoying...

Same problem here... I am using sloppy focus (without rasing windows) if I focus another program and then mozilla again I can use it. I didn't have this problem until I started using sloppy focus.
Thanks!!

The problem seems to be related to transient pop-up windows. Mozilla uses a lot of these, so the problem is very noticable with Mozilla. Basically, the popup appears, asking (e.g.) if you'd like to accept a cookie, or notifying you that you're entering a secure web page, you acknowledge the popup, it disappears, and the underlying window does not fully regain focus.
The odd thing is that the window border is drawn as if the window had focus, but the window itself acts as if it does not.
I use sloppy focus (like most of the other people who have mentioned their focus model), so it may be a sloppy-focus-specific problem. Changing focus to another window and back definitely fixes the problem, which makes sense if the problem really is the underlying window not actually regaining focus.
I don't have a patch, but I can reproduce the problem consistently, and it doesn't happen with blackbox, so I might be able to help further if those who are more familiar with the code can't find it from my hints so far.

I don't know if this is a fluxbox bug or a mozilla bug, but it started after I installed fluxbox. When I start mozilla (1.0 RC1) I can't enter anything in the URL bar or select any text from it. It is like I can't place the cursor in the URL bar. But if I switch to another desktop and back again, all seems to work again. The problem often reocures when I have surfed for a while, and the desktop switching trick has to be done again. I have also noticed that the problem also affects input forms on homepages (like the bug submitting page :-) It is like the cursor can't be placed in the text fields or something like that.
