FBGM fails to update menu #537

When I log in with a second X user on display -- :1 named testUser with me on -- :0 and run fluxbox-generate_menu then right click before the process finishes running I only get the default menu for fluxbox that has only xterm reload config and restart and exit. Running kill -s usr2 `pgrep fluxbox` fixed the problem here.

(errr@joker)[~/programs/fluxmenu] fluxbox -i Fluxbox version: 0.9.14 SVN Revision: 4128 Compiled: Oct 21 2005 15:10:12 Compiler: GCC Compiler version: 3.3.6 (Gentoo 3.3.6, ssp-3.3.6-1.0, pie-8.7.8)

Defaults: menu: /usr/local/share/fluxbox/menu style: /usr/local/share/fluxbox/styles/Clean keys: /usr/local/share/fluxbox/keys init: /usr/local/share/fluxbox/init

Compiled options (- => disabled): DEBUG SLIT TOOLBAR XPM IMLIB2 GNOME KDE EWMH REMEMBER SHAPE XFT XMB -XINERAMA RENDER

This is also happening on the .9.14 release.

killing the menu, reloading the config, restarting fluxbox, or quitting does not work here

When I am logged in as a user with only one session running I occasionally have a similar problem. Sometimes when I run fluxbox-generate_menu my menu loses some of it's submenus and submenu entries and leaves me with only "eterm" and "mozilla". I often also loose my "fluxbox menu" submenu. Since I haven't though until just now to add a keybinding to restart fluxbox, I've been getting around the problem by exiting X disgracefully. When fluxbox loads, the menu has been updated and everything is back to the way it was.

The output of this command: ~ $ normal_find firefox is: [exec] (firefox) {firefox}

Thanks.

so, what again is the real problem? if you kill the fbgm-process before its finished, then the resulting fluxbox-menu isnt really valid?
