I compiled and installed fluxbox-0.1.9. Awesome window
manager!
When using xine-0.9.10 to view movies (mpg, avi, etc) in
fullscreen mode (under fluxbox), X will completely lock up.
In fact, it will lock up to the point where neither
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace (usually kills X) nor Ctrl-Alt-Fx (switch to
virtual terminal x) function. So I have to do a remote login
to my computer to kill/restart X.
This seems like a xine problem, since I'm using xine with
the "Xv" video driver, which I believe really does some
low-level stuff with the video hardware and/or X.
But at the same time, I've been using xine in this manner
without incident under Blackbox (0.62.1 and 0.65alpha8),
icewm, sawfish, gnome/sawfish and maybe some others.
By the way, I'm on a Debian Linux "potato" system, but
with XFree 4.1.0, linux kernel 2.4.18 and a lot of
self-compiled software (e.g. xine-0.9.10 and fluxbox-0.1.9).
Please email me if you have any questions or need further
explanation! garman@raw-sewage.net
