I'm unable to reproduce this. If anybody can reproduce this, please post relevant information like video card and driver so we can track it down.

closed, not fluxbox. Some WMs got around it, others don't. So it is either xcompmgr or nvidia.

Recent changes in Fluxbox SVN concerning per-window-transparency messed up transparency with Xcomposite together with xcompmgr.
Resizing and/or maximizing windows leaves very ugly artifacts (after maximizing / unmaximizing they are all over the screen).
This only seems to happen when alpha of focussed windows is set to 255 and windows use the default transparency, as soon as you either
a) set a custom window transparency =! 255 b) set a default window transparency != 255
the problem seems to disappear...
