systray icons disappear if fluxbox restarted

wicd-client, gnome-power-manager, pidgin (and probably others) no longer show their systray icons if I restart fluxbox, however kmix does continue to show its icon in the systray.

System - ubuntu 8.10 i686

Using ubuntu's distribution package.

Fluxbox version: 1.0.0 Compiled: Jul 2 2008 13:43:37 Compiler: GCC Compiler version: 4.3.1

Defaults: menu: /etc/X11/fluxbox/fluxbox.menu-user style: /usr/share/fluxbox/styles/BlueNight keys: /etc/X11/fluxbox/keys init: /etc/X11/fluxbox/init nls: /usr/share/fluxbox/nls

Compiled options (- => disabled): -DEBUG EWMH GNOME IMLIB2 KDE NLS REMEMBER RENDER SHAPE SLIT TOOLBAR XFT XINERAMA XMB XPM
