When adding an image to a note and publishing it with this plug, the image reference links to /{image-name-here} - the image itself does not get copied to the output, and therefore the link fails.

Ideally, the image would get copied and the url updated to refer to the final path.

Nice-to-have would be to rename the image to a SHA hash of its contents, to effectively dedupe and cache break them.

I face the same problem. Without image handling (and/or other attachments) the export/publish is only half as useful as it could be :-(
