Currently the stable version in 0.8.1 off the 0.8 branch. We have been using the 0.8 branch like a master given that the current master is actually broken and unusable in it's current state.
After discussions with core committers, the decision has been made to do the following:
Take the 0.8 branch and set it's current stable state to master branch
Make notes in the repo about this change incase anyone was using it (though given it is broken this should be minimal)
Keep an archive of the original state of master incase anyone REALLY needs it
Set the CI to test against the latest 3.x
I'm also going to add a clearer note in the README to ensure contributors know where to make their Pull Requests.
This is all in the effort to make contributing to the module easier and to make some progressions to the features and breaking changes (which we currently cannot in the current state).
