Update preg_match calls for PHP 8.1 compatibility

Travis error looked like it might be intermittent - restarted the job to see if that will fix it. Ultimately the new github actions CI should be applied to this module at this stage so if travis errors again we may have to do that so that we can see this PR go green.

Just noticed that this module has no tests anyway so happy to merge as-is
