Have problem saving files #122

I'm Thierry GUENOUN , anesthesiologist at the American Hospital of Paris (France). Briefly, i'm working on a model of anaesthetic's technic prediction using a neural network At first, i would apologize for my bad English Thanks and congratulations for your contribution for a better understanding of this fascinating science. I tried to build a preliminary network using SIMBRAIN (with MacOS). I've no major problem to built the network ( backprop, nodes, layer, input data etc) but i encounter problems to save both my network and the input data files. I can't export them in the workspace, but only in my personal space (desktop, personal folders). It means that when i want to open my last work, i do not find it on Sinbrain (logically) or appears inactive on the screen (in grey). Its impossible for me to save my work in a workspace that can be searched and found on the SIMBRAIN workspace. Moreover, when i create a csv file on EXCEL for my input datas, the software cannot import my files (the good number of column, 25, corresponding to the input neurons values, is recognized as only one column, for example)

i did not find precise informations about these issues on the tutorials and did not find any user manual that may solve my issues. Can you help me ? (i'm not sure to be perfectly clear !) Do you think that working on a PC using Window could be better ? Thanks for your help

Hi there, and thanks for your interest! This is very helpful information.

I am testing on mac, so you should be good. Please confirm you can still open files, even though grayed out.

We will work on both issues for the next release.

The issue of disabled entries in the file chooser seems to be specific to some Macs, and even on my machine the issue is inconsistent. In fact, sometimes just by changing directories in the file chooser grayed out zip files (for open workspace) become normal again. @titouguinoun or anyone else, if you can find specific conditions under which this occurs it would help diagnose

Thanks for your helpThe issue of disabled entry is solved now, I created a specific folder in which I put my network and the cs file which is active. But when I try to import the input data from this cs file which contains 25 columns (corresponding to the first layer 25 neurons ), I receive a warning message explaining that it’s not possible to import data with 1 column ( ?)Do you think I have to do differently, as creating directly an input data file directly in a SIMBRAIN  input data file if it exist ? Sorry for my questions Jeff and thanks for your helpful advicesEnvoyé de mon iPhoneLe 19 août 2023 à 04:18, Jeff Yoshimi @.***> a écrit : The issue of disabled entries in the file chooser seems to be specific to some Macs, and even on my machine the issue is inconsistent.
