What changes does it make to the system?

simeononsecurity commented 1 year ago

@bithack3r It makes many, too many to document all in one place. Please review the documentation provided at https://github.com/simeononsecurity/Windows-Optimize-Debloat Which is linked in the article already.

Do you have a script to undo/reverse what this did? It really messed with my power plan, and am now getting 'This setting is controlled by your system administrator' when I am indeed the only administrator of this computer.

@snowboard247 to change the configurations applied from the script with regards to your power plan, see the following

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/ask-the-directory-services-team/managing-power-with-group-policy-part-1-of-3/ba-p/395121

otherwise you can use system restore to reverse the settings all together

I think your script may be compromised or something has been injected in it? Immediately after I ran it, Privacy Badger was installed in my browser as an extension and it was un-removable. Also all the power settings were basically 'locked' and unchangeable. Trying to use system restore as you suggested above failed. I ended up wiping my computer.
