Some small patches #2

Hello, thanks for making Bonsai it was just what I needed, a small tree widget :) Here are some changes I found useful. You can see them at work here: http://docs.gl/4/glBindBuffer on the left. Let me know if you have any questions.

HI there, for some reason I didn't even realise that this PR even existed! Sorry about that. The code's moved on a bit now, so this isn't merge-able. Also, I try to keep bonsai as lean as possible - my suggestion is that you do this in your app code. If there's anything you need from Bonsai to be able to do that then let me know.
